Join in the fun and help support your community’s furry friends!

Each year, the Animal Shelter takes in over 10,000 animals and while several thousand animals are adopted each year, the reality is that there are simply more pets than homes, and thousands are euthanized. The Animal Shelter Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides life-saving support to the homeless animals in the care of the Tallahassee Animal Shelter.

Your participation in Tails & Trails helps support ASF programs like spay/neuter to reduce pet overpopulation, supplemental veterinary care, and community education on responsible pet ownership. So walk, jog, or run & help make a difference in the lives of homeless animals!

IMPORTANT:  Easterwood Drive will be closed at 7:00 AM race day with traffic being redirected to enter Tom Brown Park on Connor Blvd from Capital Circle. Please leave a few minutes to park and walk to the registration area at the Animal Shelter. Registration begins at 7:00 AM, the 1 mile walk begins at 8:00 AM, and the 5K and 10K races begin at 8:30 AM. See you there!

PARTICIPANT NOTES:

  • Pre-race packet pick-up is on Friday, May 3rd from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the Animal Service Center in Tom Brown Park.
  • We ask that you leave your furry friends at home as this event is an opportunity for us to highlight our adoptable pets in need of homes.

Proceeds benefit the Animal Shelter Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides support to the homeless pets at the Animal Service Center. ASF aims to make a positive difference by reducing pet overpopulation, promoting humane education, and providing veterinary assistance and other resources to the animals in the care of the Animal Service Center.
